Predator: Killer of Killers Animation Film Debuts with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes
According to CinamaDrame News Agency, the film “Predator: Killer of Killers”, the first animated installment of the “Predator” franchise, has debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with a 100% critics score. Dan Trachtenberg and Josh Wassung directed the film, with the screenplay written by Miko Robert Rotare.
“Predator: Killer of Killers” follows the iconic alien hunter across three different timelines and locations, showcasing three brutal encounters: with Vikings, with Ninjas and Samurai in feudal Japan, and with Allied fighter pilots during World War II. The film follows a Viking warrior accompanied by his young son on a bloody path of revenge, a Ninja in feudal Japan locked in a ruthless battle against his Samurai brother for succession, and a World War II pilot who soars through the skies in search of an extraterrestrial threat to Allied forces.
“ComingSoon” rated the film 8 out of 10, calling it “the best ‘Predator’ in decades.” The reviewer praised the film’s violent moments and historical production design, writing: “It’s a masterclass in animated action.”
“San Francisco Chronicle” described the film as a “bloody 90-minute package, with action-packed animated stories,” while “Variety” found it “emotionally satisfying.” “Bloody Disgusting” wrote that “Killer of Killers” animation was inspired by the “Arcane” series and praised its “commitment to bloody action.”
“MovieWeb” wrote that this animation “redefines everything we knew about giant hunters.” The “IndieWire” critic wrote: “I’ll go as far as to say that video streaming networks were made for works like these: special surprises that stand on their own two feet.”
With its current score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, “Killer of Killers” has performed the best among all films in the franchise. The 2022 film “Prey” received 94%, “Predator” (1987) received 80%, “The Predator” (2018) received 34%, “Predator 2” received 29%, and “Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem” received 12%.
“Predator: Killer of Killers” will stream on Hulu on June 6, 2025.
